The historic First Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, NC was the perfect backdrop for one of Claire McLain Photography's favorite summer Family Sessions. This session included mom, dad, sister, and baby boy (almost one) - and grandma assisting with the kids from the sidelines This family was a dream to work with and photograph! The whole family was happy and upbeat throughout the session, and mom was exceptional with communication and styling the family!

We had the perfect evening - with one of the truest golden hours that I've captured at First Presbyterian Church. This led to beautiful and warm photos throughout the entire Church's property. We made sure to capture some extra photos of the baby boy as he was turning one a week after the session. Mom brought a personalized train and a cut out "1" to include in these photos. I included some of his birthday photos in the sneak peak, so the family would have them to share on his birthday.

Tips from this session:

1) Schedule family photos while there is an extra family member or friend (grandma, aunt, babysitter, etc.) around to help with the kids from the sidelines. This allows mom and dad to relax a little bit, happier kids in photos, and more photos of the whole family.

2) Bring fun and/or meaningful items for your child's photos. It's a great way to elevate a photo or include something special at the moment.

Photos were shot on the Canon R6 with a 50mm lens. The sky was clear with the perfect golden hour. Photos were shot roughly an hour before sunset.
