This evening Claire McLain Photography family session was a scorcher, but thankfully we were at a lake in Elizabethtown, NC. This family was fun, quirky, and photogenic! The daughter shared that her mom was a swimsuit model and always took great photos. Mom's talent carried through her entire family and the photos were spectacular. No one would have guessed it was over 100 degrees!
This family's relationship was one that most people aspire for in life. Their love for one another was apparent through how they interacted with each other. This was actually a last minute session on the last day before the eldest daughter who lives out of state, flew back home. The kids were close with each other and even asked for photos with just each other. I started laughing when the sister picked-up her brother in the newly-wed pose. They were a fun and loving bunch the whole evening! I was so honored to capture these amazing photos for them.
We started the session near the lake on a beautiful road framed by trees and a fence. Then we moved into the woods before heading to the lake for sunset photos. Unfortunately, our sunset was hidden by clouds that quickly appeared. Although, the golden hour was limited, the photos were spectacular. By taking photos at multiple locations, I was able to get them a variety of images.
Photos were shot on the Canon R6 with a 50mm lens. The light was partially clouded which led to a mix of direct sun and overcast. Photos were shot roughly 1-1.5 hours before sunset.
